This job came to us via a local painting company, who’d been approached by the building’s owners to create something impactful for the exterior of their historic shopfront. Together we sat down to figure out how best to execute the mural. We knew we wanted to keep some of the historic brickwork/paintwork from the existing building, so proposed a design for the bottom half of the space. The owners said they liked the idea of incorporating a rhino and a hornbill into the piece, and always up for a challenge, we set to work making their vision come to life. In its other life as a corner shop, this building was a neighbourhood meeting point. Now, thanks to this gorgeous mural, it’s become that again, with street-art aficionados from all over making pilgrimages to this out-of-the-way spot to photograph the piece.
